One Busy Month

I know it's been a while since I've updated this blog, and I have so much to talk about, but very little time! In just a few minutes, the computer that I'm typing on will be turned off, broken down, and packed up, to be moved to our new home. This makes me a little sad. Ok, very sad. (I'm sure post-pregnancy hormones have something to do with it too.) In about an hour, the movers will be here to take out all our furniture. I'm excited about our new home, but I am sad to be leaving this one. It has been our home for over 7 years. It was our first house together, and we've brought two babies home to this house. So many memories here. Now it's time to make new memories in a new house! For this I am happy and so very blessed. It's bittersweet, for lack of a better word.

One thing I don't recommend is to have a baby, sell your house, buy/move to a new house, and have a garage sale within a month's time! It has been hectic to say the least. Hannah was born on April 24, the same day the tornado went through Yazoo City. I guess there is something about barometric pressure having an effect on going into labor! Up until that day, I didn't have a single contraction. But I woke up at 2 AM with some, and I wasn't going to take any chances and wait around where I couldn't get an epidural! (Thanks Dr. Cole for scaring me into thinking this could happen!) "The second baby will come faster than the first," she said. Well, we got to the hospital at 4:30 AM, and I was only 2.5 cm dilated! But my contractions were still coming, so they didn't send me home. I just had to wait until 2:48 PM to have this child. That part actually took longer than it did with Conner. Oh well, it all worked out in the end. I got my epidural, so I was happy. And a beautiful baby girl, of course!

Well, I would post more, but I must go and get some more things packed up! The next time I sit down to do this, it will be in our new home!

Fun in the Snow!

We woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, and it continued to fall until around 2 PM. We got our gear on and got out in it around 10 AM. As you can see, Conner had a great time! It wasn't too cold being out in it, but we didn't stay out too long, mainly because Conner's boots kept coming off and his socks were getting soaked! We intended to go back out after his nap, but never did. I think we managed to get enough good photos and video though! Here are just a few....

4D Sonogram

Yesterday I saw a better glimpse of Hannah during my 4D sonogram. She ended up flipping over after 10 minutes or so, but we did manage to get some decent shots first. It wasn't as clear as I would've liked, but it's definitely an improvement from 3 years ago when I had Conner's done. Jeremy actually brought Conner to my appointment, mainly because he had just picked him up from his Valentine's party at school. :) Conner seemed somewhat interested in seeing his baby sister, but he was also pretty pumped up with sugar from the party! The lady that did the sonogram thought that Hannah looked a lot like Conner. We will see for sure in about 12 weeks!

I think that's some of the cord by her face

Her little feet were crossed, and you can see her hand too!

This is Conner's 4D picture from 3 years ago!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Conner had a great Christmas this year, and definitely got more into it! It was so much fun watching him open his gifts. Of course, he would want them all assembled right then, and had to learn a little bit of patience. (I think those plastic twisty ties should be banned from all packaging!) We also had to work on not saying "mine" all the time, as he would sometimes get upset when we tried to show him how something worked. But overall, he was very good and enjoyed spending time with the family!

Christmas program

This video was from Conner's first school program. Even though it was a "Christmas program," over half the songs they did were not Christmas related. Conner did very good on stage - he didn't cry at all, and he seemed to pay attention to the director and follow instructions! I wasn't sure what to expect, having 3 classes of 2-year-olds all on stage at the same time, but they did great!

Trick or Treat!

Going trick-or-treating was a lot more fun this year. Bob and Larry had a great time! Conner was very friendly with everyone, and felt "at home" with each house we visited! He did learn not to go into the houses about mid-way through our journey. :)

Playing ball

This video was from September. I've had it on my iPhone since then! Who knew throwing a ball would be this funny?
